Emily Prins is a young woman whom God has sovereignly raised to address one of the most pressing challenges in today’s generation. She is the Founder and Executive Director of Expect Hope, a Christ-centered residential program for unsupported, young expectant women, which provides a safe residence for mothers who desire to prepare a life for their new families. As the ministry’s visionary, Emily has been systematically planning to serve women in New York City, since God began to stir her heart at age of five. A native New Yorker, raised in a Christian, ministry-focused home, God has been uniquely shaping, molding, teaching and guiding her to be the competent, compassionate leader of this vital work that is based in the heart of the borough with the highest rate of abortions in New York City, the abortion capital of our nation.
Emily graduated in 2009 with her B.A. in Spanish, earning her Masters in Urban Studies with a concentration in Community Development from the same school, Eastern University, in 2015. Emily volunteered as a peer counselor for The Pregnancy Clinic in Severna Park, MD, and went on to freely serve Good Counsel Homes in the Bronx, as a tutor and Life Skills Coach.
During her graduate studies, Emily planned and developed Expect Hope’s program. She spent the following two years raising awareness and funds in the tri-state area which led to the eventual opening of Expect Hope’s doors early 2018. Emily continues to be the principal fundraiser and grant writer for Expect Hope, as she serves as the spiritual and governing oversight of Expect Hope Staff and program. Emily is a member of the National Christian Housing Conference and is blessed to speak into other ministries through various platforms of Heartbeat International and the National Maternity Housing Coalition.
Emily Prins is a genuine expression of God’s heart to broken and hurting women, the men in their lives, and their little ones in the 21st century. A trustworthy servant of the only true and living God, she is a walking, talking example of Christ at work in one of His beloved children, empowering and using them to fulfill His purpose in this hour. She is supported and encouraged by her husband and is blessed to be the mother of three sons.
